Stage Right to present
“The Odd Couple: Female Version”
by Neil Simon
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to circumstances beyond everyone's control, Stage Right is postponing their production of The Odd Couple: Female Version, until a date to be determined in the spring.
Stage Right's performance home is transitioning from the former Boyd Community Center into the new Lauri Ann West Community Center. As with all such transitions, there are the inevitable growing pains.
"Right now the new center is not quite ready to host the full-scale production that our audiences expect from us." Bill Ivins said. "We are working closely with the Lauri Ann West Community Center, and they have been very accommodating. Our audiences deserve the best show we can produce, and so we decided that the best thing to do for them is to wait until spring to present The Odd Couple."
Finishing touches are still being made to the Center’s Multipurpose Room, where Stage Right will be producing their shows. As a result, the construction of a temporary stage, and the show's set, cannot begin until the room is completely ready. The full parking lot will also not be completed until later this spring.
Stage Right is working toward a late May/early June date for rescheduling.
Because of this postponement, they will only present two shows this season, instead of the usual three. Season subscribers will be given the option of a refund, or the ability to bring a guest to The Odd Couple for free. Stage Right volunteers will be in touch with subscribers to discuss which option they prefer.
Ivins added, "We have a very talented cast in rehearsals right now. This show will definitely be worth the wait."
